BELT TESTS
In addition to basics, kata, and sparring, Shotokan and
Kunami Ryu students earn belts. New students begin as
white belts and are allowed to take a test in front of a
board of black belt instructors when the necessary
techniques and kata are learned for the next belt. The
techniques and kata for each belt do increase in difficulty
as the student progresses into the higher belt ranks.
X-Treme Karate students must progress through white,
orange, green, blue, and four levels of brown belt before
being eligible to test for black belt.
